You can type the file name followed by command line arguments that tell the
driver the tablet type and configuration, or modify AUTOEXEC.BAT file so the
driver is loaded whenever you start your PC.:
ADIHDG [/n] [/M#####] [/C#] [/P#] [/U]
[/n] is a one-digit number that specifies which serial port is being used
to communicate with the tablet.
If no port argument is given, the ADIHDG driver will be installed
on COM1.
/1 designates COM1 (Default)
/2 designates COM2
[/M#####] The second argument selects the tablet model being used:
/M1111C selects the HDG-1111C
/M1212E selects the HDG-1212E (Default)
/M1212D selects the HDG-1212D
/M1515D selects the HDG-1515D
/M1717D selects the HDG-1717D
/M1217D selects the HDG-1217D
/M2222S selects the HDG-2222/2222S
/M2436S selects the HDG-2436/2436S
/M3648S selects the HDG-3648/3648S
/M4460S selects the HDG-4460/4460S
/M2222T selects the HDG-2222T
/M2436T selects the HDG-2436T
/M3648T selects the HDG-3648T
/M4460T selects the HDG-4460T
If no /M##### is given, the driver assumes a default HDG-1212E.
[/C#] is a designator for the type of cursor or stylus being used
by the driver:
The default cursor type is the /C4 (4-button cursor).
/CP selects a PEN or stylus
/C4 selects a 4-button cursor (Default)
/C12 selects a 12-button cursor
/C16 selects a 16-button cursor for HDG-1212E and Large
tablet only.
[Pointing Device Button Definitions]
The following lists the digitizer button functions that are executed when
using the ADIHDG driver with Standard configuration(i.e., unmodified acad.mnu
file) of AutoCAD.
This button mapping may be modified by editing the acad.mnu file.
For instructions to modify the acad.mnu file, refer to the AutoCAD "Reference

For example, if you want to install ADIHDG.COM with the HDG-1217D on COM1 and
12-button cursor, follows the step listed below.
- Insert "Hitachi drivers" diskette into A:.
- Type A: and press Enter key.
- Type as follows at DOS prompt(A:>).
A:>ADIHDG /M1217D /C12
After you install the ADIHDG driver, you are ready to start AutoCAD or
other AutoDeask's software products that support Real mode ADI digitizer.
And you may need to run the CONFIGURE program within AutoDesk's software
to select "Real mode ADI digitizer" as input device. To configure the Real
mode ADI driver, select "AutoDesk Device Interface" in the digitizer
configuration menu.
